Tools and Materials

• Slat panels (calculate square footage first)
• Construction adhesive or panel adhesive
• Finish nail gun or screws (optional but recommended)
• Level, tape measure, pencil
• Fine-tooth saw or miter saw

Step 1: Plan the Layout

Decide if you want full-length vertical, horizontal, or a mix. Measure twice — slat panels show every off-cut.

Step 2: Prepare the Wall

Walls should be clean, dry, and flat. Patch any holes and paint dark behind the slats if you can see between them.

Step 3: Cut to Size

Use a fine-tooth saw to avoid chipping. Cut on the felt side for cleaner edges.

Step 4: Install

Apply adhesive in zigzag pattern, press onto wall, secure with finish nails through the felt (the felt hides nail heads beautifully).

Step 5: Trim and Finish

Use matching trim or paint your edges. Done.
